Sometimes, the universe sends an opportunity your way that you had never really considered until it arrived at your doorstep. Such was the case when I was asked to photograph a project for Rockwool Insulation, a global leader in producing insulation products for residential and commercial builds.
In this case, I was asked to photograph the installation of Rockwool’s Cavityrock® product at two new buildings on the main campus of the University of Victoria. This particular product is a semi-rigid insulation board designed for exterior cavity walls and rainscreen applications. It’s the latest insulation technology aimed at giving the building long-term thermal efficiency, fire resistance, moisture control, and acoustic performance.
The purpose of the photoshoot was to capture the installed product, before the cladding went up on one building, and then capture the completed second building. The commission also drone work, with the aerial stills included here.
This was such a positive experience for me and entrenched my love and appreciation of industrial architecture photography.
